City Rain, City Streets

It is basically a hurricane outside today you guys. I think this qualifies as coming in like a lion, no?

I’m being dragged going out dancing tonight! True confessions, I never went through an “ omg going to the bar is so fun!!!!!” phase. Even when I was young and foolish in my early 20s, I hated it. Drunk people are dumb, guys at the bar are (usually) gross. And it’s sweaty and the floor is sticky and there’s nowhere to put your purse. Plus, if you are a total music snob like me, you’re only guaranteed to like about 2 out of every 7 songs. But I’m worried people are starting to think I’m an anti-social old lady who doesn’t like anything. So I’m going to prove a point or something. And I like the girls I’m going with, a lot. And maybe I will have fun once I get over my social anxiety. Please pass the rescue remedy.

The Oilers beat Dallas yesterday, you guys! It’s a hockey miracle! The last time the Oilers won in Dallas was in 2006. THE YEAR THEY WENT TO THE STANLEY CUP FINALS. Coincidence? I think not. Etown, start planning the parade.

Last night Westside got together for another Delve worship night. It was even bigger than the last one we had, and I’m so (x 1 million) excited about how God is moving in the hearts of his people in worship in this city. I was not in the band this time, and it was cool to be able to stand off to the side and look out at a sea of people singing their hearts out to the Lord. There were faces in that crowd that have been through heartache and sorrow and pain, who were giving everything up to Him and experiencing peace and joy and love in his presence. There is nothing more beautiful to me than seeing people changed by God’s grace. Honestly I’m tearing up as I’m writing this. How Marvelous, How Wonderful…and my song shall ever be!

Exciting news! My dear friends Rob & Eliza have launched the website for their new Photography and Hairstyling business, TrendiCreative. I have written about Eliza here before— she did all the girls hair for Ariana’s wedding and is honestly the best hairstylist I’ve ever had. I promise I’m not just saying that because she’s my friend!

TrendiCreative

Posting this is a tiny bit of self-promotion, because I wrote the copy for the site. I even managed to squeeze in a shot at Calgary, heyo! But I will only take about 4% of the credit. Tiff designed all of their branding and came up with the overall creative vision for the site. All of the photography is Rob’s, obvs. Can you believe I am friends with such amazing. talented creative people? This girl is blessed, yo.
